Films + Florals Workshop

 

We are so excited announce an opportunity to network with other industry professionals and learn more about the art of photography and running a creative business for our Film + Florals Workshop. 

We will start on Friday morning at Peonies and Petals warehouse in Costa Mesa with classes in the morning a shoot in the afternoon and a formal farewell/networking dinner in the evening.

If you are new to film photography or even new to wedding photography and don’t know where to start this will be the perfect workshop for you. Our goal for this workshop is to help new film photographer leave feeling ready to add film photography to their creative process. We will focus on metering, which film stocks to use, communicating with your lab, posing, directing, creating relationships with vendors, film matching and marketing as a hybrid photographer.

There will also be time for Q+A session. You can send us up to 3 topics that you’d like help with. It can be about anything in your business! We want you to really dive deep and think about what you think you could improve on and what areas you want help with in your business. We love doing it this way because there are so many questions that photographers have and it helps us make sure to address exactly what you need to learn throughout the workshop. Hopefully this will help you leave feeling like you learned what you needed! We also love group discussions, we truly believe in learning from each other in our photography community! We want community to be a huge part of this workshop and we know we will all be growing and learning together and hopefully lasting relationships will form.

 

Another one of our goals for this particular workshop is to help with posing. Teaching how to engage and talk with to your subject as you shoot. We will show you how to approach portraits on a wedding day to give your couples variety and images that they love even in a time crunch, and of course, I want you to leave with amazing images from our workshop!!

 

We will also spend time going over workflows and tools to help automate your business. My office manager and associate photographer Karissa will dive deep into topics such as scaling your creative business organically through Pinterest and Instagram, creating an authentic brand unique to your business, and efficient business management tools to automate your workflow. And Heather Keys of PASS will be teaching us how we can easily outsource and automate our businesses.

 

The workshop will run from 9am-9pm and will be cram packed full of tools and tips to help you succeed. And of course a styled shoot, tons of fun, and good food!

 

Spaces are Limited! To make sure you reserve your spot, please complete the registration form and proceed with payment. Registration is not complete until a form of payment is completed. When you register for our hands-on workshop, we have reserved one of our limited spots for you and have begun personalizing your workshop experience. Therefore, once payment is made for the tuition, it is no longer refundable if you choose to cancel your registration. However, it is transferable is you can find someone to give your seat to. 

 

Since I do shoot hybrid, it is suggested that you are as well or show interest in film. Many questions that I’m asked and will address are geared towards incorporating film into my business and shooting conditions for film/what to look for while shooting film. It’s important that even if you’re not shooting film that you are interested in it so that you’ll benefit from this mentoring session to its fullest! If you don’t have a film camera, we will have one for you to try - you’ll just be responsible for buying film! If you’d like to use the camera I have please let me know and I can tell you what film to buy!
